Minot High School scored the first goal on Friday, Oct. 25, at home against Bismarck Century. Senior Kellan Burke carried the ball into the end zone late in the first quarter and scored the first touchdown of the game, putting Minot High School up 7-0.
With four minutes left in the first quarter, sophomore Tarik Bell scored his second touchdown, giving Minot a 14-0 lead. Legacy scored its next score with 39 seconds left, making the game 14-7 going into the second quarter.
Midway through the second quarter, Minot High School scored again, extending the lead to 21-7. Minot High didn’t stop there, as senior Noah Bledsoe scored a touchdown with two minutes left in the first half, making the score 27-7 at halftime.
After halftime, Minot High School scored another touchdown in the third quarter to lead 34-7. Minot High continued to play great defense throughout the third quarter, not allowing Century to score again. Minot High School made a field goal with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter, pushing the score to 37-7.
Century scored one final touchdown in the fourth quarter, cutting Minot’s lead to 37-14. The final score was 37-14 Minot High School.
Minot High School is 4-0 in conference play and Legacy is 1-3.
Minot High School, the top seed in the Western Dakota Association (WDA) standings, will next play West Fargo, the No. 4 seed in the EA, at home in the postseason opener on Friday, Nov. 1.

The team, ranked No. 2 in Class AAA, traveled to West Fargo and led 13-0 at the half en route to a shutout of the home team. West Fargo Cheyenne is gearing up for the postseason and is one of only two teams to beat the top-ranked Magicians.
As the top seed in the East, WF Cheyenne will host Bismarck Legacy, the No. 4 seed in the WDA, on Friday.

The third-place team in Class AAA faced Fargo Davis and left the host team with a 42-0 lead at halftime, making it a lopsided victory for Fargo Davis. Fargo Davis was the only team to beat top-ranked Minot High School.
As the second seed from the East, Fargo Davis will host Mandan, the WDA’s No. 3 seed, in its postseason opener on Friday, Nov. 1.

In next week’s battle for the WDA No. 2 seed, the fourth-place Demons will host the fifth-place Braves. Bismarck led 26-7 midway through the second quarter. Mandan narrowed the lead, but the home team held a 26-14 lead entering the third quarter.
Mandan scored twice in the third quarter to take a 29-26 lead and looked headed for an upset. Bismarck High School scored just under four minutes into the game to take a 33-29 lead and win on its home field.
As the No. 2 seed in the WDA, Bismarck High School will host Shanley, the third seed from the East, and the Braves will face Fargo Davis in the first round of postseason play.
