LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Lynchburg girls soccer team (8-4-3) looks to continue its strong run as it travels to Winchester for an ODAC matchup against Shenandoah (8-7-2).
Before a 1-1 tie with Bridgewater in their most recent game, the Hornets had won four straight, outscoring their opponents 15-1. The result moves Lynchburg into fourth place in the conference standings, but with three conference games remaining, there is still a chance to move up in the standings.
Shenandoah enters this game having snapped a two-game losing streak with an overwhelming 9-0 victory over Hollins. Shenandoah’s offense is led by McKenna Newcombe, who has seven goals and three assists this season. Defensively, Casey Kilmer is an invaluable asset between the pipes. Kilmer has the third-most shutouts in six games so far this year in ODAC.
In the past 10 meetings between the two programs, Lynchburg has controlled the series 8-1-1, including three straight wins dating back to 2020.
As a result of this incident, the Hornets are scheduled to return home for a game against Hollins on Wednesday, October 30th at 6 p.m.
