The MSU women’s hockey team has played its past four home games at Maysa Arena, and home ice has been good for the Lady Beavers, going 4-0 in that span compared to two losses to open the season.
This weekend, the Lady Beavers will host Midland University on Saturday, October 26th and Sunday, October 27th, as a repeat of their opening two games of the season.
At the end of September, MSU traveled to Nebraska and opened the 2024 season with a two-loss loss to Midland, but the host team scored five points in two games and held the Lady Beavers scoreless.
In the matchup history between the two teams, MSU has seven wins, 15 losses and three ties in the series. The Lady Beavers are 1-7-3 on the road, while MSU is 5-5 on home ice.
The Beaver women’s team is ranked 12th in the country in the latest American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division I poll.
Also on the women’s side, Maryville holds the No. 1 spot for the first time in program history, followed by McKendree in second, Adrian in third and former No. 1 Midland, currently in fourth place.
Rounding out the top five was Michigan State, with the Beavers (4-2-0) falling from third to 12th after having last weekend off. In-state rival Jamestown ranked 13th.
Minot State University (MSU) will host its first cross country meet in more than a decade on Saturday.
