Ciara is loving every moment of this special “Victory Monday.”
On Monday, the 38-year-old singer took to Instagram to congratulate her husband Russell Wilson after he made his Steelers debut with a 37-15 victory over the Jets on Sunday.
“Victory Monday! Go Dad @DangeRussWilson! Go @Steelers,” Ciara captioned the post, which included a photo of the family rocking Wilson’s No. 3 jersey at Acresure Stadium in Pittsburgh.
The quarterback, who was sidelined earlier this season due to lingering calf issues, took the No. 1 QB spot in Sunday’s game over Justin Fields, who has led the Steelers to a 4-2 start.
The quarterback change raised many eyebrows, but Wilson had a solid performance, completing 16 of 29 for 264 yards and two touchdowns. He also scored on the ground.
“It was like playoff baseball,” said Wilson, who came to Pittsburgh this offseason after being released by the Broncos. “I started 0-for-2, but I had a feeling it was going to get hot. I kept telling my coach, ‘Hey, it’s going to get hot in here,’ and sure enough, it did. Our guys did a great job up front, giving us enough time to make our throws, guys making plays on the field and everything else. ”
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin praised Wilson, who was named the starter out of summer training camp.
“I thought he was a great player,” he said after the game. “…It’s been a while since he played ball, but I thought he settled in, shook off the rust, distributed the ball and played well.”
The Steelers defeated the Raiders 32-13 on the road last week and were coming off a primetime win against the Jets on Sunday.
Fields, who was traded from the Bears to the Steelers in March, scored two rushing touchdowns against Las Vegas.
He has thrown only one interception in six games.
“I have to give credit to Justin Fields, everything he’s been able to accomplish, how great he’s been playing,” Wilson said Sunday.
When the Steelers host the Giants next Monday night, Ciara will likely be at the game to cheer on her favorite player.
She and Wilson have been married since 2016 and have three children, daughters Sienna, 7, Amora, 10 months, and son Win, 4.
Ciara also has a 10-year-old son, Future, from a previous relationship.
