In recent years, games between the Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Stars, and Texas Rangers were broadcast on Bally Sports Southwest.
Everything has changed. Despite the rise of streaming services, the way you watch Dallas Cowboys games (depending on the day of the week) is even changing.
However, the bankruptcy of Diamond Sports Group, owner of Bally Sports, forced the Rangers, Stars, and Mavericks to look elsewhere for a broadcast partner. Bally Sports has been discontinued as Diamond Sports Group rebranded the network to FanDuel Sports Network.
Here’s how to watch each local professional sports team play.
dallas mavericks
On August 23, the NBA announced that 13 teams had finalized their contracts with Barry’s parent company, Diamond Sports Group, but the Mavericks and New Orleans had decided not to renew their contracts with Barry.
The Mavericks have signed an agreement with TEGNA Inc. to broadcast games free of charge to viewers. Those with cable, satellite and streaming providers in North Texas can access Mavs games for free.
At least 70 games that are not scheduled for national exclusive broadcasting will be broadcast on TEGNA’s KFAA (Channel 29). That channel used to be Spanish broadcaster KMPX. Channel 29 has a new show starting October 20th. At least 15 of the more than 70 games to be broadcast on Channel 29 and 13 stations across Texas will be simulcast on WFAA (Channel 8).

The following TV providers have access to Channel 29: AT&T U-verse TV. Charter Spectrum; DirecTV; Dish; Frontier Fiber Keller; Tomiho. Geus. Grande Communications, OneSource Communications, Optimum.
If you don’t have one of these providers, a digital antenna can solve your problem. They can be purchased for $25 to $55 each.
Other options are in the works. “Yes, streaming is planned,” a Mavericks spokesperson told The News, adding that an announcement could be made as early as next week.
The new agreement with TEGNA will allow approximately 14 million fans to watch Mavs games for free, nearly four times the potential viewership available on Bally Sports Southwest. do.

dallas stars
The Stars have decided to cut ties with Bally Sports and take matters into their own hands.
They launched an app called Victory+, a first-of-its-kind service that allows fans in the market to watch games directly to consumers for free. This app was created by A Parent Media Co. Inc. and released in September.
The team has agreed to a seven-year deal to broadcast games for free on the app and generate revenue through APMC’s advertising model. All-Stars fans in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas can access Victory+ to watch games. Blackout restrictions apply to ineligible fans, but they can still access Stars games through ESPN+.

This user-friendly app is available for all Roku, Apple iOS, Android, Amazon Fire TV, Google TV, and web streaming services. Victory+ recently announced that the app will soon be available on Vizio, Vidaa, LG, Samsung, and AppleTV. To download the app, type “victoryplus” in the search bar of your device’s app store or visit victoryplus.com.
All you have to do is sign up for a free account and get access to Stars games.
69 of the Stars’ 82 regular season games and the first round of the playoffs will be broadcast on Victory+.
Victory+ also includes media content from all the stars, including interviews, classic games, and featured star content. The Anaheim Ducks have also signed a venture deal with the Stars, and their games will also be streamed on Victory+ (but only for those in that market).
texas rangers
Unlike the Stars and Mavericks, the Rangers don’t have a solution yet.
That’s also because the Rangers have a little more time to understand the situation.
In early October, it was announced that Rangers would be leaving Diamond Sports Group. MLB has announced that it will take over game production for some teams, but the Rangers have decided to go their own way.
A statement said the Rangers have “decided to no longer work with Diamond Sports Group and are evaluating local media options for the 2025 season.”

So what are the Rangers’ options? The Dallas Morning News reported in September that the club was pursuing the idea of creating its own regional sports network, which would be a more lucrative option than leaving it to MLB.
Texas has not yet agreed to anything, but the new RSN is expected to include cable/satellite and streaming options for fans. The Rangers also could potentially negotiate deals with local TV stations in the area for broadcast packages, similar to what the Mavericks did.
Please keep an eye on the Rangers’ activities.
dallas cowboys
Cowboys games aren’t hard to find.
FOX or CBS will broadcast each Cowboys game unless Dallas plays on Monday Night Football or Thursday Night Football. Monday Night Football will be broadcast on ESPN.
The only time they need to be careful is when they’re on the field for Thursday Night Football. These games will be streamed live on Amazon Prime Video. Fortunately, the rest of the 2024 season shouldn’t be an issue, as the Cowboys defeated the Giants on Thursday Night Football and will not be in that weekly NFL feature again this year.
