Nedrose and Surry were battling for their first win last night at Surry High School. Surry picked up the game in the first quarter by scoring its first touchdown of the game against Nedrose. Nedrose responded with a touchdown moments later, tying the game.
Both teams went into halftime the same way the game started – both looking for their first win of the season.
The Mustangs were led by first-year head coach Cade Susie. Joey Berg was in the same position with the Cardinals.
Was it home-field advantage or was it better to talk about halftime? Surry came on strong in the third quarter, scoring 24 unanswered points to lead the visiting Nedrose team 32-8.
Both teams scored touchdowns in the fourth quarter, and Surry won its first game of the season, 38-16.
Wednesday night’s contest concluded each group’s schedule and ended the season for both teams.
