A Maybach luxury car owner has sparked an unlikely new fashion trend by covering his leaky car with an inexpensive tri-colored tarpaulin.
A 31-year-old from eastern China’s Jiangsu province, whose surname is Zhou, bought a new Mercedes-Maybach GLS 480 for 2.15 million yuan (approximately US$304,000) at the brand’s dealer store in Suzhou on July 1. I bought it.
Two days later, Zhou noticed strange noises and water leaking from the car’s dashboard when it rained.
Mr. Chou took the car back for inspection, but technicians were unable to find the cause of the problem.
Dealership staff suggested disassembling the car to find out the problem, but Mr. Chou refused, believing that the company should not experiment with his new car.
Despite this, after Mr. Zhou left the vehicle at the store, the staff disassembled the vehicle without permission.
