Despite finding a way to beat the New York Jets on Monday Night Football, Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane realized the team needed more from the wide receiver room.
Just hours after the New York Jets acquired Davante Adams in a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders, the Bills made a move of their own to acquire the Pro Bowl wide receiver. Buffalo sent a 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 seventh-round pick to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for wide receiver Amari Cooper and a 2025 sixth-round pick.
Cooper, 30, just finished the 2023 season in which he caught 72 passes for 1,250 yards and five touchdowns in 15 games. The receiver has recorded over 1,000 yards receiving in four of the past five seasons and currently has 24 receptions for 250 yards and two touchdowns.
In Buffalo, Cooper is expected to take over as the Bills’ No. 1 receiver. Cooper’s addition should also be beneficial to Buffalo’s other pass catchers, as he is expected to draw a lot of attention to Buffalo’s passing attack. Other pass catchers such as Khalil Shaquille, Dalton Kincaid, Keon Coleman, and Curtis Samuel will be open on the field for Josh Allen as the team focuses on slowing down Cooper. This should lead to even more success.
After the trade, multiple media outlets reacted to Buffalo’s acquisition of Cooper. Overall, all of the media personalities featured feel that Buffalo’s roster has improved to the point where the Bills field one of the best teams in the league. Let’s take a look at what members of the media had to say after the trade announcement.
