The Republican senator from Louisiana went on a rant about Kamala Harris’ recent appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, implying that tampons are a luxury and not needed by Hurricane Helen victims.
Sen. John Kennedy appeared on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show on Monday and spoke out about the need for feminine hygiene products. He was reacting to Harris’ appearance on Alex Cooper’s wildly popular podcast over the weekend.
“The vice president is on a show called “Call Her Daddy,” “Call Your Daddy,” “Who’s Your Daddy,” “Call Me Daddy,” and I prefer “Who’s Your Daddy.” is talking about tampons,” the senator said.
Call Her Daddy is the second most popular podcast on Spotify, with millions of listeners, behind only The Joe Rogan Experience. It’s unclear why the senator seemed surprised that women’s health was being discussed between two women on a podcast with a predominantly female audience.
“Right now, people in Appalachia don’t think anything about tampons. They need water. They need to get out,” he said.

Kennedy was a senator from Louisiana, not Appalachia, and was educated at Oxford.
Republicans are trying to portray the devastation caused by Hurricane Helen as a failure of President Joe Biden’s administration, even going so far as to call the hurricane “Kamala’s Katrina” on Fox News.
Social media users were quick to point out that President Kennedy did not speak for the women affected by the storm.
“You know, the women in Appalachia who can’t afford monthly supplies are[caring for]yet another stressful thing to deal with on top of everything else. There’s nothing more stressful than that,” wrote X user @Leslieoo7 in response to the video. “These clowns need to stop representing women.”
Male users of X also participated and gave reasonable reactions to the clip.
“I’ve never used tampons, and my memory is a little fuzzy on eighth-grade health education, but perhaps people who use tampons need to use tampons even after a devastating hurricane. , you may need a little help getting tampons,” he wrote.
While appearing on Call Her Daddy, Harris and show host Cooper spent much of their discussion talking about women’s health and rights.
Harris revealed in her podcast that she was the first vice president to visit a reproductive health clinic.
