For the first time since the 2021 season, the Fort Dodge football team is ranked in the AP rankings.
The Dodgers (5-1 overall, 2-0 district) are tied for ninth place in Class 4A with Western Dubuque (4-2).
Fort Dodge will have a different feel this week as it heads to LeMars (3-3, 1-1) for kickoff Thursday.
Class 3A, District 2 opponents include No. 1 Algona (6-0) and No. 5 Humboldt (5-1) this week. They are the only undefeated team in the district.
In the IHSAA RPI rankings, Algona and Humboldt are the top two teams in Class 3A.
Emmetsburg (6-0) remains undefeated and ranks third in Class 1A.
Defending state champion Bishop Galligan (6-0) is back in first place with eight votes.
Munson Northwest Webster (5-1) ranks 14th in Class 1A with five wins on the season.
The top teams in the state are Bettendorf (5A), Council Bluffs Lewis Central (4A), West Lyon (2A), Grundy Center (1A) and West Hancock (A).
