New pediatric and adolescent behavioral health specialty rankings introduced this year.

U.S. News has evaluated specialty care at children’s hospitals since 2007. Best Children’s Hospitals aims to assist parents, caregivers and doctors in meeting the challenge of finding the best possible care for children with serious illnesses and complex medical needs .
US News currently rates 11 pediatric specialties. The latest edition of Best Children’s Hospitals debuts an evaluation of a new specialty: behavioral health.

Children’s hospitals were awarded the “Best” designation for excellence in factors such as clinical outcomes, adherence to established best practices, and the level and quality of hospital resources directly related to patient care. Hospitals that earn the “Best” designation may be good options for consumers and caregivers to consider in consultation with their health care provider.
