FOREST, Va. — Lynchburg University field hockey sophomore Anna Dorestyn scored two points in Saturday’s win and was named ODAC Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon. .
Dorestyn’s two-goal performance made the difference in a 4-3 win over Rowan this weekend. Her two goals were a career high for points in a single game. The second goal of the game was the winning goal, the third goal of his collegiate career, and the first goal of the 2024 season. This is the first time in her collegiate career that she has earned ODAC Player of the Week honors.
The sophomore from Driehaus, Netherlands, scored on two shot attempts on the day, posting a perfect shooting percentage. Dorestyn currently ranks tied for fifth in the ODAC in shots on goal, tied for 20th in goals, and tied for 25th in points.
Dorestyn and the No. 14 Hornets will resume conference play this Saturday, Oct. 12, at noon against Randolph-Macon.
