CHAMPAIGN — The start time for Illinois football’s much-anticipated home game against Michigan on Oct. 19 has been set.
The Illini vs. the Wolverines will kick off in two weeks at Memorial Stadium in Champaign at 2:30 p.m., with CBS broadcasting the game.
The 23rd-ranked Illini (4-1, 1-1 Big Ten) will face off against the 24th-ranked Wolverines (4-2, 2-1), a team that has made its name known throughout the nation. This will be the first time in almost 100 years. Legend scored six touchdowns in a 39-14 victory over Michigan on October 18, 1924, which served as Memorial Stadium’s dedication game.
The University of Illinois will wear throwback uniforms and specially designed synthetic leather helmets for its first home game against Michigan State since the 2019 season. Illinois announced Sunday night and also Monday that it had fewer than 1,500 tickets left for the game.
The kickoff against Michigan will be Illinois’ second consecutive mid-afternoon Saturday kickoff. The Illini will face Purdue (1-4, 0-2) this Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
