A groundbreaking ceremony for The Ritz-Carlton Residences was held on October 2 at the Lake Woodlands property where Howard Hughes announced the construction of luxury condominiums.
Developers say the development is located on the last major residential site in Lake Woodlands. As of the Oct. 3 news release, 69% of the condos have been sold.
The project, which developers say is the first freestanding Ritz-Carlton condominium in Texas, offers a country club feel on eight acres with 1,200 feet of lakefront shoreline.
How it all started
The Ritz-Carlton Residences was designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects and features 111 private residences, according to Howard Hughes. Includes 15,000 square feet of indoor space and 3 acres of outdoor facilities.

The groundbreaking event was attended by Howard Hughes officials, including President Jay Cross. Bonnie Wedemeyer, Executive Vice President of National Condominium Sales and Strategy; Jim Carman, Houston Region President; and CEO David O’Reilly.
