HONOLULU (Island News) — New home goods retailer Happy Mart Hawaii will have a soft opening on October 10, 2024, followed by a grand opening on October 12 at Market City Shopping Center.
The new store in the Kaimuki area focuses on quality, affordability and sustainability. Happy Mart Hawaii offers a variety of household essentials, from kitchenware to accessories to seasonal items, at affordable prices. It’s located on the floor above where a Walgreens used to be.

Chen said this is Hawaii’s first store and prices are 30 to 40 percent lower than online retailers. Wholesale quantity discounts are available with special offers during the launch week.
To celebrate, Happy Mart will make a donation to Kaimuki High School, located next door to Market City. The retailer also offers Army members a 10% discount on purchases. Community activities will include sustainable workshops and artist events where local artists can display and sell their Made in Hawaii work.
