The Frankie Shoppe’s 100 Stanton Street location on Manhattan’s Lower East Side is so iconic. I remember when it first opened, it was very small and the employees had to go down the stairs and into the basement to get to the warehouse. The fact that Gaëlle Drevet was able to expand it into such a large renovated space is incredible, making shopping here now a very elevated experience.
We stopped by to find the perfect pieces for fashion month and the transition to fall. I immediately liked how everything was sold by color. You can immediately see how the pieces fit together. There are no internal discussions about how to style X with Y. It was a very easy shopping experience and I appreciate it.
The brand has a lot of cult-favorite pieces, especially outerwear and tailored pieces, but interestingly, I’ve never been into tailored pieces, and I just discovered them. In addition to the separates, I love all the sheer layering pieces. Below are some key pieces I tried on at The Frankie Shop, how to style them, and some finishing touches to complete the look.
pure joy
When I find a style I like, I tend to buy multiples of it. A sheer periskirt is a perfect example. I already have the white and black, but I also tried the burgundy and loved it. However, she is a difficult person to style. There is definitely an element of “what kind of underwear to wear”, so I played around with layering. I paired it with a slightly thin trench coat and a white T-shirt. I also paired it with a long blazer.

burgundy is the new black
I usually wear black a lot, but I’m kind of glad it’s coming out of late summer and not necessarily getting there. I appreciate fall neutrals that aren’t too fussy, and burgundy is one of them. Frankie Shop currently has lots of great burgundy items. I wanted to try a tonal look with my periskirt, so I paired it with a tonal crackle top that was a little longer and had plenty of coverage.

easy weekend wear
I like anything oversized. This tank top will be the most active piece in my wardrobe. I can say it because it is very easy. And I love wide-leg jeans. The proportions are sloppy and easy, as if you didn’t even have to try.

light tailoring
All of The Frankie Shop’s lightweight tailoring is perfect for changing seasons. I’m not much of a dress girl, but I can do the same with coordination. It’s a complete look and done in one go. You don’t have to think about anything when you wake up in the morning. These pants are easy to wear with just a t-shirt and look just as good with or without a blazer at the office. On chilly days, wrap a sweater around your neck and wear a coat over it. I love how versatile these items are to get through different weather conditions and scenarios. I rarely do a full look other than tailored, and even then, most blazers are worn with jeans, but it was too easy not to do this.

I loved this color because I’ve never turned down a head-to-toe gray look. It’s a chalky green-gray color. I wanted to add a pop of color to my shoes, so I paired them with red sandals. This is definitely a fashion week look. Swap your vest for a sweater that’s easy to layer for a fall look.
