LUBBOCK, Texas (News Release) – Last Thursday, UMC faced a difficult ransomware attack. The result was an IT outage affecting many systems. As a result, all ambulance traffic was diverted to other hospitals, including Covenant Medical Center and Covenant Children’s Hospital. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to provide our community with uninterrupted care and access to medical services. As UMC works toward returning to normal operations, we continue to support increased patient demand.
If you have a medical emergency, do not delay treatment and go to the nearest emergency room. Due to a significant increase in patient volume, wait times may be longer in Covenant Medical Center’s emergency department. The Covenant Health Emergency Center at Quaker Avenue and Milwaukee Avenue is also open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing emergency services to the community.
