Franciscans breaks ground on new cancer center
Franciscan Health Crown Point held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Dean and Barbara White Cancer Center on Sept. 23 with the blessing of the Rev. Robert McCrory, Bishop of the Diocese of Gary, according to a release.
This project was made possible in part through a $30 million gift from the Dean and Barbara White Family Foundation in November 2023, the largest gift ever received by the Francisco Health Foundation.
The 71,000-square-foot, three-story cancer center is being built on the southeast corner of Interstate 65 and Route 231, on the campus of the new Franciscan Health Crown Point Hospital, which opened in January. The center will consolidate Franciscan Health Crown Point’s existing cancer treatment services into one location, according to the release.
The center is scheduled to open in early 2027.

PNW reports increase in graduate programs
