Live entertainment company Live Nation has acquired The Paramount, an entertainment venue on New York Avenue in Huntington. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Paramount has hosted a variety of music and comedy acts, including Billy Joel, Pitbull, UB40, Kevin James, and Sarah Silverman.
Paramount founders Brian Doyle, Dominic Catoggio, Jim Condron, and Stephen Yubatini opened the theater in 2011 in the former Intermedia Arts Center, a nonprofit theater.
Paramount’s partners said in a statement to The Long Islander, which first reported the matter, that “Live Nation will be overseeing the venue and Paramount is thrilled to continue its great legacy. ” he said. “Live Nation, which has been our booking partner for 13 years, was the natural company to pass the torch and lead the venue into the future.”
The Paramount is an integral part of the arts and entertainment scene in both Huntington and Long Island. The arts are a regional economic driver, contributing $330 million to Long Island’s economy, according to a 2023 study by the Long Island Arts Alliance.
In addition to performances, the venue features the Founders Room, a members-only retreat. Ella’s is an eatery offering a selection of plates, pizza, and cocktails. Spotlight is a space with a bar, live music, art, and food. Private events are also held at the venue.
Back in 2019, LIBN reported that Paramount held 1,665. The former IMAC Theater had 600 seats.
Live Nation will continue to employ team members from The Paramount.
