After a two-year hiatus, Mercer women’s basketball is back. The 2024-25 season will feature 29 games and two scrimmages. The Vikings’ season opens with a scrimmage against Passaic on October 29th. 14 games will be played before the new year and 15 games after the new year. Division II Region 19 opponents include Union, Raritan Valley, Del Tech, Harcum, Middlesex, Lackawanna, Essex and Salem.
Regional home games for the first half of the season include Union on Nov. 19, Raritan Valley on Nov. 21, Harcum on Nov. 23, Essex on Dec. 7, Lackawanna and Middlesex on Dec. 10. Included. Regional road games in the first half of the season include Nov. 26 against Middlesex, Dec. 3 against DelTech, Dec. 17 against Salem and Dec. 19 against County College of Morris. .
Region 19 home games for the second half of the season include Jan. 21 against Middlesex, Jan. 28 against DelTech, Feb. 11 against Salem, and Feb. 15 against County College of Morris. Included.
The District Division II schedule will be tough for the Vikings as three of their opponents are ranked in the division top 20 poll: Union (8th), Harkum (12th) and Raritan Valley (votes) Probably.
The Vikings will also face some of the Division III teams that finished the 2023-24 season in the rankings: RCNJ Gloucester (12th) at home on November 9th and Northampton (13th) on January 16th. They will play against each other at home on Sunday.
