Rural Alaska is facing a serious crisis. From 2012 to 2021, pregnancy-related deaths in rural Alaska nearly tripled, dramatically outpacing the increases seen in urban areas. Alarmingly, almost half of these deaths were related to barriers in accessing health care. In Line 1, host Dr. Gillian Woodruff and guests discuss this disparity and how to address it.
