A vacant Bed Bath & Beyond store in Mandeville will have a new tenant next year.
Home goods store HomeGoods will move into the Bed Bath & Beyond space at Premier Center on U.S. 190, said Rhonda Sharkawy, an agent with Starling Properties, which manages the shopping center. It’s planned.
HomeGoods is currently located in a separate shopping center almost across U.S. 190 from Premier Center.
Sharkawy said the store is expected to open and operate next spring in a 30,500-square-foot space.
Interior work will be carried out before the store opens.
The former Bed Bath & Beyond anchor spot in Premier Center, which also includes Whole Foods, Barnes & Noble, Target and Old Navy, will be replaced by the national retailer in late 2023, along with several other Louisiana stores. It has been vacant since it closed.
The New Jersey-based company filed for bankruptcy in 2023. Overstock.com then purchased Bed Bath & Beyond’s retail assets for $21.5 million.
Sharkawy said the addition of HomeGoods will bring Premier Center’s occupancy to 100%.
Founded in 1992, HomeGoods operates more than 900 stores across the United States, including locations in Jefferson Parish, Hammond, Homa and Baton Rouge.
