A leading pro-Trump super PAC has bought about $16 million in additional ad time in key battleground states as Republicans move to curtail the advertising advantage that Kamala Harris and her Democratic allies have built up in recent weeks.
Over the past two days, super PAC MAGA Inc. has booked new ads totaling about $15.8 million targeting four key battleground states this week through Election Day.
The group added a total of $5.9 million to bookings in Pennsylvania, including $3.8 million targeting the Pittsburgh market, $712,000 targeting the Harrisburg market, $300,000 targeting the Johnstown market, and $1.09 million targeting the saturated Philadelphia market. Additionally, MAGA Inc. added $4.35 million to bookings in North Carolina, $3 million to bookings in Georgia, and $2.6 million to bookings in Arizona.
The cash infusion will help cushion the Republican advertising advantage Democrats have built since Kamala Harris took over the nomination: From July 22 through today, Democrats have outspent Republicans on presidential ads by about $645 million to $415 million, including a total advantage of more than $100 million on digital platforms.
The battle is closer in the key battleground states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, Arizona, North Carolina and Nevada, but Democrats still have the advantage, having spent about $482 million to Republicans’ $369 million.
