Montclair ranked in the top 15 in the nation for social mobility in latest rankings

Montclair State University continues to rise in the rankings of the nation’s top universities.
The university is ranked among the best national universities in the nation in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 Best Colleges rankings, and on this highly-anticipated list of America’s best universities, Montclair University outperformed in several categories.
Montclair was once again recognized as a national leader in social mobility – a measure of how well a school recruits, graduates and puts economically disadvantaged students closer to achieving the American Dream – ranking 12th out of 434 public universities in this increasingly important area.
The university also ranked 152nd overall, up 11 places from its 2024 ranking of 163rd, its highest ranking ever.
