The Warren boys soccer team recorded its fifth straight win, all shutout victories, with an 8-0 victory over Corley in a non-region game on Saturday at War Memorial Field.
For Warren (6-3 overall), Jack Chapman, Gavin Rex and Luc Wilkins each scored two goals while Trey Carrington and Adon Meyer also had goals in the win.
“We were able to get a lot of people involved.” “It’s a great feeling,” Warren coach Stephen Blair said. “It was a total team effort. Bryce (Grolemund) and Riley (Morgan) gave us a lot of energy in the middle of the field, set the pace of the game and really got us going in the first half. We were sharper as a team in the second half, had more urgency in front of goal and were able to capitalize on our chances.”
Casey Rich and Finn Ordiway each had two assists, while Rex and Timmy Giger also assisted on the goal.
Defensively, Giger and Grolemund each recorded 10 steals.
