Start of the day!
Ree Drummond
We started the day at the same store where Alex bought her wedding dress, partly because it’s only a few blocks away from Alex’s house, and partly because it was such an amazing first experience. I had a huge cinnamon roll for breakfast so I wouldn’t have to try on dresses. ๐ I wasn’t planning on wearing a white shirt to go with Paige’s dress, but I didn’t bring much from home so it was my only option. Anyway, as you can see…the smile on my face says it all. What a happy day! I’m so happy for Paige.

Viewing time
Ree Drummond
Looking at the endless options in a wedding dress shop can be time-consuming, but luckily Paige had a pretty good idea of โโwhat she didn’t want (sparkles, sleeves, appliques). This can be just as helpful as trying to figure out what you do want. But there are just too many options and directions! Lace or no lace, strapless or straps or sleeves, low back or high back, white or ivory, bows or no bows…it’s overwhelming, but overwhelming in a good way. Nothing is more gorgeous than a bunch of wedding dresses hanging together!

Dress shopping gang!
Ree Drummond
After Paige tried on a bunch of gorgeous dresses, we moved to our second spot. We got to take selfies in front of the mirror! Paige had invited David’s mom and sister and we all had the best day together. We had only met a few times before so it was like a little crash course in getting to know each other but it felt so fun and natural… and David’s mom Heather is funny and laughs at herself just as much as I do so we both felt equally awkward the whole day! ๐ But seriously, how amazing is it to have Paige have another mom and sister. What a blessing.

Say Yes to Champagne
Ree Drummond
I should mention that I don’t normally drink alcohol during the day. I don’t want it to ruin my day so I like to get my work done while I’m still sharp and save the drinks for the evening. But it was a Saturday and I had no work to do other than taking photos and videos of the dresses Paige tried on so I went ahead and had a glass or three. I didn’t want to sound rude and Alex was due to give birth so I couldn’t drink so I decided to drink in the daytime!!

How many dresses did Paige try on?
Ree Drummond
After trying on a few dresses on our third visit, we went back to where we started. By the way, we counted. Want to know how many dresses Paige tried on in her three visits? Before we left, David’s mom and I made a bet on how many dresses Paige would try on in one day. One person said 8, the other said 22. The total? 40! 40 dresses. Luckily, she moved lightning fast and only perused the dresses she liked. I suppose 40 dresses isn’t all that unusual, but I would have been exhausted if I had to zip up that many times. But in the end…

She found it!
Ree Drummond
Our second child found her dream dress. For obvious reasons, I can’t show you the dress right now, nor will I show you the 40 dresses we tried on, to preserve the magic of wedding dresses. But I promise I will post a gallery of all the potential dresses the week after the wedding next May. It was such a fun fashion show, and I hope to dig into all the options and details and share what I learned. For now, we are so happy that Paige found a dress that she really loves and feels is perfect for her. That’s all there is to it! (David’s mom and I may take you all shopping when we shop for the mother of the bride/groom dresses. For that, we’ll definitely need champagne!!)

Deja Vu
Alex Drummond
Ah, sisters! Alex was at the same place 4 years ago (well, the store has since moved, but it’s still figuratively the same place!). There may have been just a few differences. Alex found her dress within an hour of going wedding dress shopping and canceled other plans. Paige made the most of her shopping day, trying on tons of options to finalize her favorite. But they both found the perfect man for them, and thankfully, they both took me (and their future mother-in-law!) with them and ended up at the same store. I love these two girls and I’m so proud to be their mom!
