MIAMI — Residents in one Miami neighborhood were shaken after FBI agents raided a luxury home overnight.
Witnesses reported seeing a vehicle being taken away from a property in the 1200 block of Northeast 83rd Street.
Authorities haven’t said much about the operation, but neighbors told CBS News Miami that the home is often rented out.
“They said they had a warrant and it could take 30 minutes, maybe longer,” witness Lena Hepworth said. “They didn’t want to let us through because there could have been a gunfight and they were concerned about our safety.”
Somare Barker and his family took video of the tactical team in the truck as the attack continued into the night.
“Late last night they were still taking all the cars away – really high-end cars,” Mr Barker said.
“Everyone was locked in their own section. No one was allowed in or out until about 11 p.m.”
Authorities have yet to say much about the attack, but all that remained outside the home was what appeared to be a shattered front door.
“Police have blocked off the street and told us to go get a coffee. It might take a while. We might not be able to go home for a while,” said Jacqueline Manto, driving by and wondering what was happening.
CBS News Miami reached out to the FBI, which would only say they confirmed they were at the scene.
