Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) announced today that fans and viewers throughout the Chicago area will now be able to watch Chicago Blackhawks, Bulls and White Sox games, as well as other CHSN programming, through an over-the-air (OTA) agreement with Millennial Telecommunications’ WJYS-TV.
The team’s games will be aired on Channel 62.2 and Channel 62.3. Both channels will switch to HD and broadcast full-time CHSN programming starting October 1. Having two digital channels allows for simultaneous broadcast of games when the two teams are playing at the same time.
“Fans first is our goal,” said Jason Coyle, president of Chicago Sports Network. “We’re delivering content on the platform where fans can watch. For households that, for whatever reason, choose over-the-air as their primary viewing platform, they now have the opportunity to watch the game and form a stronger connection with the teams and celebrities they love.”
Approximately 600,000 homes in the Chicago DMA that do not have pay-TV service will need a full-channel over-the-air antenna to watch the game. Guidance on selecting and installing an antenna and scanning for channels can be found on this website. Households that already have an over-the-air antenna will need to do a new scan for available channels after CHSN’s official launch. Detailed FAQs on how to purchase and install a digital antenna are available at CHSN.com.
CHSN’s broadcast schedule includes locally broadcast regular season games, select preseason games and select playoff games. In addition to live game coverage, the network offers top-notch pre- and post-game programming, in-depth commentary from experienced sports analysts and 24/7 multi-sport programming. CHSN broadcasts from state-of-the-art, fan-immersive studios located at Chicago’s United Center and Guaranteed Rate Field.
As previously mentioned, the network will launch with a preseason game between the Blackhawks and Bulls on October 1. The first CHSN White Sox game will air in March 2025. The remaining 2024 White Sox games will air on NBC Sports Chicago through September 29.
CHSN is a joint venture between the three teams and Standard Media and, pending league approval, plans to expand its reach across a large portion of the Midwest, including parts of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan and Wisconsin.
