Chick-fil-A plans to open in Jackson in 2025
Chick-fil-A has officially announced it plans to expand with a new store in Jackson in 2025.
The popular fast-food chain announced plans on Wednesday (September 4) to open 25 to 30 new locations around Michigan by the end of 2028, doubling its number of locations.
One of those locations will be in Jackson, company officials said.

Galazio brings authentic East Coast Mediterranean cuisine to Albion
The eatery hopes to offer something other than the typical burger and fries found in the Albion and Jackson areas.
Galazio of Albion was opened two years ago by owner Sean Hare, who wanted to bring authentic Greek and Mediterranean cuisine to the area. The restaurant offers a small but substantial menu of homemade pastas, salads, soups and wraps.

What’s it? New self-storage development underway in Spring Arbor
New development is underway in Spring Arbor that will bring several new warehouses to the area.
The property at 5996 Spring Arbor Road, across from Hobbit Greenhouse, will be the new home for Jackson Self Storage, and construction began in May on the new facility to serve customers’ storage needs, according to owner Doug Dysart.

Renovated, larger walk-in clinic opens at Jackson Family Health Center
Family Health Center of Jackson welcomes you to our newly renovated walk-in clinic.
The health center, located at 505 N. Jackson St., began construction in January on an expansion of its medical clinic and pharmacy near downtown Jackson. The clinic officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, Aug. 27, and is ready to begin serving clients, officials said.

Feed the ladies with a bite to eat at Jackson’s new cafe
A new cafe in Jackson is more than just a place to get coffee — it’s also a place where a nonprofit organization helps women reach their goals.
SOAR Café and Farms, which means “She Overcomes and Rise,” held the grand opening of its new cafe on Wednesday, Sept. 11, inside the former Anna’s Gifts & Home Décor store at 401 N. Mechanic St.
The cafe serves salads and sandwiches and helps women gain work experience and build their resumes, said CEO and founder Michelle Cochran.

La Esquina Mexican Cafe brings Mexican breakfast bowls to Jackson
La Esquina Mexican Café opened two years ago near Jackson offering authentic Mexican cuisine.
Since opening, owners Judith and Jose Orozco have made some changes to the menu, including offering some new items such as breakfast bowls, Judith said.
The idea for the breakfast bowl came about when the couple returned home to Jalisco, Mexico, in January, where they tried the dish at a small restaurant in town and decided to bring it back to Jackson, Jose said.
