In the new world of college football, money is king, and while players across the country are signing NIL contracts, Bisons players are forging their own paths and putting their entrepreneurial skills to the test.
On Saturday, the duo of Eli Mostert and Logan Larson will be on the defensive end for the Bison. Every other day, they will be dedicated employees of Luxury Exteriors LLC.
“This is a window washing business, so what we do is cater to residential customers – window washing, pressure washing, cleaning gutters,” sophomore defensive tackle Logan Larson said.
This unique idea was born in the spring, all thanks to TikTok.
“I just thought it was a great idea. I wanted to give it a try. And all of a sudden, like I said, it just took off. It started with a few houses, then we got a big company and then once it started spreading, it just spread by word of mouth. People are happy that the Bison are helping out. It’s the best fan base,” Larson said.
“It took a little while with the insurance and all the paperwork, but once everything was taken care of and we bought what we needed and everything was done, we just went out and sold it and cleaned it up. It’s pretty basic now. It’s been a fun experience going around with the guys and growing this little thing,” senior defensive tackle Eli Mostert said.
Business for “Luxury Exteriors” boomed, so soon more Bisons got involved, eventually creating their own opportunity for NIL trading.
“We want to help our guys. We want to pay them for helping us. If they want to advertise for us, we’ll let them. We’ll put up some money for the NIL side. But we’re only trying to help them because they help us,” Mostaert said. “The big name guys, Cam, Bryce and Gray, they’ve helped us develop this spring and summer. It’s good to have the big name guys helping us develop.”
Every time you wash a subway window, you’re one step closer to a bigger goal that goes beyond the game of football.
“For me, it’s a really exciting story because I have such big plans. What if I can give him a scholarship one day? What if I can contribute to the team and give back more than I ever wanted,” Larson said. “It just kind of builds up. It’s a really exciting story for Eli, too. He has a little legacy he can leave here outside of football. This place is bigger than football, so it’s like a family.”
Eli and Logan say their “Luxury Exteriors” have helped other players find work during the off-season, and they hope to continue the business for generations of Bison.
