India News Breaking: Two-day conference to review social empowerment scheme begins in Agra on Monday
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment will be holding a two-day conference in Agra from Monday to assess the progress of various social empowerment schemes and promote coordination between the Central and State/Union Territory governments to overcome challenges in their implementation. The national review conference, ‘Chintan Shiveer’, will bring together key stakeholders including Ministers, senior officials and policy makers of social justice departments of all states and union territories, a ministry statement said.
The meeting will focus on formulating a strategy towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vision 2047.
The event will be chaired by Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Birendra Kumar, Union Ministers of State for Home Affairs BL Varma and Ramdas Athawale, and will also serve as a platform for exchanging best practices and identifying future social empowerment strategies, he added.
The first day of the conference on September 9 will see presentations on schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Anushchit Jati Abyudei Yojana (PM-AJAY) and Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana (PM-AGY) aimed at upliftment of Scheduled Castes (SC), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward Classes, De-Scheduled Tribes and Persons with Disabilities (PwD).
Other discussions will focus on skill development programmes under the Pradhan Mantri Dakshata Aur Ksharata Sampan Hitograhi Yojana (PM-DAKSH) and financial assistance to vulnerable entrepreneurs through venture capital funds.
