The Howard County Health Department said the outbreak was caused by homemade food that employees brought to work to share.

According to a statement from NAFCO, employees of a seafood distributor were found eating the nauseating delicacy in the building’s parking lot. And just a few hours later, everyone who ate the food fell ill at the same time.

The local health department echoed this sentiment, saying it did not believe the food sold at wholesalers was contaminated with the bacteria or pathogens that caused the disease outbreak.
