Pete Prisco’s Super Bowl Rick Spic
“How would you choose Patrick Mahomes in the biggest game of the year? You won’t.
“It’s an easy way to make a Super Bowl LIX choice. As the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles score the field at the Caesars Superdome on Sunday, the Eagles will have a better roster, more top-end players, physical. It exudes a bully’s ball in style.
“But the Eagles don’t have Mahomes. He’s Mr. Crutch. He’s probably the best at getting it done when his team goes down or needs to play. It’s 6-1 this season. In nine playoff games with the Chief behind in the fourth quarter, he lost two other guys as he’s 3-0 from the Super Bowl pick against that?”
Picks: Chiefs 30, Eagles 27

Brinson’s long shot bet
CBS Sports senior NFL writer Brinson cooked 10 long shot bets for Super Bowl Lix, including two developments centered around Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Jalen hurts over 300 passing yards (+710): in a perfect world for the Eagles, this doesn’t happen. If Jalen remains restrained the total total, it means the Eagles have effectively run the ball, Saquon Barkley is gashing the chief onto the ground, and Hurts has a tonne of ball You are not asked to chuck. But there’s more than a reasonable chance that two things happen here. For one, the Eagles decided to throw ZAG out and come out throwing football to throw the Chiefs defense. Or two, the chiefs are forced to jump out into the lead and the Eagles are forced to throw a lot against KC’s defense. Don’t forget that we broke over 300 yards against Kansas City at this location two years ago. Getting odds above 7-1 looks good, so if you think this is possible, you can sprinkle small bands (300-325 and 326-350) with some tons of numbers.
Jalen Hurts first converts the first down (+1400) of the game: is this a crazy number for Hurts? ! The Eagles are probably coming out and trying to run the ball. But these runs may be a read option! It’s not outrageous for Philly to decide to mix things up and fake the run to Saquon Berkley. . Plus, if the pain passes early and gets pressured, you can get this. Oh yeah, after a decent kickoff return, followed by “Tush Push” for the first down, then there is a very realistic scenario of 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1. I really like this look.

Tyler Sullivan’s Super Bowl Ricks Pick
“There’s a lot of star power in this game, but it really revolves around one of Patrick Mahomes. He’s now ranked number one in the NFL overall with allowed points (17.9). He faces the difficult task of standing up to the Eagles’ defense. Considering regular and postseason production, yards per game are allowed. For 0 (as head coach or defensive coordinator), he teams average 26.9 points per game.
“Add to that, Mahomes is dynamite in a game with tough spreads as we’re here. When the spread is less than 3 points, Mahomes’ chief is 7-0 straight up in the playoff career and is ATS.
“… Kansas City will become the NFL’s first three-peat Super Bowl champion, and Mahomes will add another chapter to his Hall of Fame resume.”
Projection score: Chiefs 28, Eagles 24
Pick: Chief-1

John Bleach’s Super Bowl Ricks Pick
“If there’s one team in the NFL that I read all seasons, it’s the Chiefs. Since Goodbye in Week 6, I’ve picked their game straight and picked 11-3 against the spread. In the wildcard round, they predicted they would score exactly 23 points against the Texans.
“The Chiefs are aiming to become the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls. Well, there’s a reason it never happened. More than the team Kansas City faces this season. It matches the Chiefs better.”
Pick: Eagles 34-24 Chiefs
Recording Eagles picking games this season: 11-9
Records to pick the Chiefs game this season: 17-2 (select my best record for any team)

Jordan Djani’s Super Bowl Ricks Pick
“They say the defense will win the championship. The Eagles rank first in both yards allowed per game (289.3) including the playoffs and scoring defense (17.9 points per game). . Since the Seattle Seahawks in 2014, if Marshawn Lynch had scored the ball at the goal line, he would have won the Super Bowl.
“Patrick Mahomes may be 8-0 against Vic Fungio, but that record is misleading to say the least. Fungio’s starting quarterback in those matchups was Drew Locke , Tua Tagovailoa, Joe Fraco, Teddy Bridgewater, and their offense averaged 11.9 points per game.
“In fact, Mahomes actually makes Fangio and Fangio worse compared to other defensive minds. In all other games, Mahomes has a conversion rate of 63% in the red zone. That number drops to 37% against Fangio. Third down when not facing Fangio.
“The underdog has won three of the past four Super Bowls, and it’s going to happen again this year.”
Pick: Eagles +1.5
Projection score: Eagles 30-26
