House Republicans will begin the 2025 legislative session with a majority in the Minnesota House of Representatives, at least for purposes of organizing the chamber, after DFL candidates declined to appeal their losses in court. During the first month of session, the Minnesota Senate is tied 33-33 due to the death of former Senate Majority Leader Kari Dziedzic.
Special elections for both seats will be held at the end of next month.
