A 24-year-old man was killed and nine others injured when gunfire erupted in a crowd near a Tennessee university on Saturday afternoon, police said.
A crowd had gathered earlier in the day for a homecoming event at Tennessee State University when a gunfight broke out between two groups around 5 p.m., according to Nashville Metro Police Department spokesman Don Aaron. At that time, the population was beginning to be decimated.

Witness Jashona Rucker told WTVF-TV that people heard gunshots, there was chaos and she saw people crying and running for safety.
Rucker said he’s thankful he didn’t lose his life or get shot.
Rauf Muhammad told The Tennessean that he was selling food in a tent along the street when he heard gunshots and fell to the ground.
