One person was killed and 16 injured in a shooting at Tuskegee University in Alabama on Sunday, and a fourth reported shootings at homecoming events across the country in the past three weeks.
The Tuskegee shooting occurred early Sunday morning. According to the university, the person who died was not a university official, but the parents have been informed.
No arrests were immediately announced.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said in an update Sunday afternoon that 12 people were injured in the shooting and four others suffered injuries unrelated to the shooting.
“The person’s parents have been notified. Several other people, including a Tuskegee University student, were injured and are being treated at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika and Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery,” the university said in a statement. said.
